Bliss Balls - Nut, Linseed and Cacao

Bliss Balls - Nut, Linseed and Cacao

20 Mins

Easy

These delicious bliss balls were originally created for Easter, but they’re perfect to enjoy any time of year. Easily adapted to suit whatever you have on hand, they’re made even more nourishing with the addition of linseed for a boost of fibre. For a touch of indulgence, we dipped them in a rich chocolate frosting - absolutely irresistible.

Naturally sweet, low in sugar, and packed with healthy fats, these treats help keep you feeling full while supporting steady blood sugar levels. With their gut-friendly fibre and satisfying flavour, they’re as wholesome as they are delicious—keeping both your body and your taste buds happy.

1 cup desiccated coconut

1 cup walnuts

1 cup cashew nuts

1/3 cup ground linseed  (I used an omega-3 ground mix from Linwoods)

4 medjool dates

1/4 cup cacao powder

2 tsp cinnamon

2 Tbsp maple syrup

4 Tbsp water

1/3 cup almond butter

Chocolate Frosting -

80 grams dark chocolate

1/2 tsp coconut oil (to loosen the chocolate if it is thick)

2 tsp almond butter

  1. Place the coconut, walnuts, cashews, linseed and medjool dates into a food processor. Process well until fine and starting to stick together.
  2. Add in the caco powder and cinnamon. Pulse to mix through well.
  3. Add in the almond butter and maple syrup, process until it comes together. Add in a little water (as much as needed) to ensure the mix holds together when rolled into balls.
  4. Place into the fridge (or freezer)

To make the Chocolate Frosting

  1. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil over a double boiler (or low heat). Remove from heat when just melted.
  2. Add in 2 tsp of runny almond butter (more if you would like it thicker). Mix together well.
  3. Remove the bliss balls from the fridge/freezer. Dip into the chocolate mix and top with flaked almonds if desired.
  4. Store in the fridge.
