I have just finished writing the blog post about ginger and wanted to share this lovely ginger tea recipe with you.
80 gm ginger sliced
4 cups of water
2 Tbsp raw unpasterised honey (more if you prefer it sweeter)
1/2 tsp dried turmeric or 3 slices fresh turmeric (optional)
Place ginger and water in a saucepan and bring to boil. Allow to gently simmer for about 6 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the honey. Serve hot, or allow to cool and store in fridge as an iced ginger tea.
The reason for adding in the honey after it has been taken off the heat is to retain the natural anti-bacterial properties of the honey.
This drink is lovely and soothing for an upset stomach, to improve digestion or relieve cold/cough symptoms.by
